Hadi Haghshenas
Hadi Haghshenas ( – October 26, 2022)
Hadi Haghshenas was a resident of Isfahan, Iran. Very little information about his early life, education, profession, or family has been made public. Unlike some other victims of the 2022 protests, no detailed biography of his personal life has been widely documented. As a result, much of his life before the events of 2022 remains unknown to the public.
In the autumn of 2022, Iran was experiencing nationwide protests following the death of Mahsa Amini. During this period, demonstrations took place in many cities, including Isfahan. According to reports published by human rights organizations and activists, Hadi Haghshenas became involved in the events unfolding in the city. Some accounts state that he intervened while a young woman was being confronted by plainclothes security forces. These reports claim that he was subsequently injured or detained during the incident.
In late October 2022, reports emerged that Hadi Haghshenas had died at Al-Zahra Hospital in Isfahan. The exact circumstances of his death have been described differently by various sources, and not all details have been independently verified. Nevertheless, his name was added to lists of those who lost their lives during the protests.
After his death, Hadi Haghshenas was remembered by many activists and supporters of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement as a symbol of courage and solidarity. Because so little information about his personal life has been publicly preserved, much of his story is known only through accounts of his final days.
Today, Hadi Haghshenas remains one of the lesser-known victims of the 2022 protests. Although many details about his life are still unavailable, his name continues to be remembered by those documenting the human cost of that period in Iran's history. For many, he represents not only an individual life lost, but also a reminder of the sacrifices made during a turbulent and consequential chapter of contemporary Iranian history.
