Abbas Loeimi (November 5, 2000 – November 5, 2022)
Abbas Loeimi, a 22-year-old resident of Ahvaz, was the son of Nirooz and lived in the Tasfiyeh Shakar neighborhood. He had completed his mandatory military service only three months earlier.
On Saturday, November 5, 2022, during anti-government protests in the Kooey-e Zeytoon district of Ahvaz, Abbas was riding his motorcycle near the demonstration. According to published reports, after he left the protest area, he was followed by security forces. During the pursuit, a security forces' vehicle collided with his motorcycle. Sources reporting the incident describe the collision as a deliberate act intended to stop him. Abbas was critically injured, and his body was left on the street.
Local residents rushed Abbas to Imam Hospital in Ahvaz, but the severity of his injuries was overwhelming, and he died before reaching the hospital.
Abbas Loeimi was only 22 years old. Reports from his family and other published accounts state that he was targeted because he had participated in the public protests. According to these accounts, his only "crime" was taking part in the demonstrations—a decision that ultimately cost him his life.
