Abolfazl Mehdipour Roushan(August 19, 2004 – September 21, 2022)
Abolfazl Mehdipour Roushan was an Iranian citizen from Babol and one of those killed during the 2022 Iran protests.
Biography
Abolfazl Mehdipour was born in August 2004 in Babol and lived in the village of Roushanabad with his family. From a young age, he worked as a stonemason and was described as someone who spent his adolescence working alongside his education and supporting his family under modest economic conditions.
Participation in the protests
During the nationwide protests in September 2022, Abolfazl decided to take part in the demonstration held in Qaemshahr on September 21. According to accounts attributed to him, he joined the protest out of concern for social conditions and solidarity with other demonstrators.
Death
On September 21, 2022, during the protests in Qaemshahr, he was killed after being struck by a bullet to the head. Various reports indicate that clashes and live fire occurred during the events in the area that day.
Burial
His body was later buried in the village of Roushanabad. Reports suggest that there were delays and restrictions in the handover of his body, and that it was eventually returned to the family after certain conditions were agreed upon.
